The Journal of Basic & Clinical Medical Sciences (JBCMS) is an international, open access, peer-reviewed journal covering advances across the basic and clinical medical sciences and allied health. The journal publishes work that helps researchers and clinicians translate basic findings into patient care, and provides a forum for discussion of clinical practice, healthcare quality, and the challenges facing medical education and health systems.

JBCMS considers submissions from all fields of the basic and clinical medical sciences and allied health. These include, but are not limited to, the basic medical sciences (anatomy, biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, immunology, microbiology, parasitology, pathology, pharmacology, and physiology); the clinical medical sciences (cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, infectious diseases, internal medicine, laboratory medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, oncology, pediatrics, pulmonology, radiology and diagnostic imaging, surgery, including neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, and plastic surgery, and urology); and allied health, public health, and medical education (clinical and health psychology, nursing, physical therapy and rehabilitation, public health, health systems, and medical education).

The journal publishes Articles (original research), Reviews, Systematic Reviews, Case Reports, Case Studies, Viewpoints, Communications, Letters, and Editorials; the requirements for each type are given in the Guide for Authors. It may also publish supplements, including proceedings of conferences and workshops, which follow the journal's policies on peer review and funding disclosure; see Editorial Structure.

Manuscripts undergo double-anonymized peer review, as described in Peer Review Process. JBCMS is fully Gold Open Access: all articles are freely available immediately on publication under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license, and authors retain copyright. See Open Access.
