Dr. Neethu Asokan is an accomplished microbiologist and educator with over a decade of experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Life Sciences at Sri Satya Sai University for Human Excellence, Karnataka, India. Dr. Asokan holds a PhD in Microbiology from Periyar University. Her research interests span a wide array of disciplines, including industrial microbiology, microbial biotechnology, psychomicrobiology, algal biotechnology, and bioenergy. She has contributed significantly to the fields of bioremediation, antimicrobial resistance, nanobiotechnology, and microbial therapeutics. As Principal Investigator, she has led funded projects in bioremediation and herbal therapeutics, and she has mentored postgraduate, MPhil, and PhD-level research. Dr. Asokan has authored and co-authored over 20 peer-reviewed journal articles, more than 20 book chapters, and several textbooks with international publishers including Springer Nature, Taylor & Francis, CRC Press, Bentham, and Wiley. She holds multiple design patents (Indian and UK) in biomedical and environmental innovations and serves as an editorial board member or reviewer for a number of high-impact journals, including Springer Nature, BioEnergy Research, and 3Biotech. She is also affiliated with global academic networks such as the American Society for Microbiology, European Federation of Biotechnology, and Global Harmonization Initiative. A recipient of several national accolades including the Young Scientist Award, Best Young Faculty Award, and Outstanding Teacher Award in Microbiology, Dr. Asokan continues to lead interdisciplinary initiatives, organize international symposia, and contribute to community outreach and science communication.
