The Central Institute of Family Medicine (CIFM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Prof. Abdul Nasir Shah as the Patron of the Journal of Medical Practitioners (JMP). Prof. Shah is a highly accomplished medical professional specializing in Family Medicine, bringing extensive expertise and dedication to this role.
Prof. Shah holds an MBBS degree from The Aga Khan University, Karachi, and additional qualifications including MCPS in Family Medicine, FCPS in Family Medicine, MRCGP International, and FRCGP International. With a distinguished career, he has actively contributed to research studies on contraception methods, sexually transmitted diseases, complications of circumcisions, disease patterns in earthquakes, family physicians’ job satisfaction, and community perceptions of diseases. His research work has been published in reputable medical journals.
In addition to his clinical expertise, Prof. Shah has held key administrative roles, serving as Program Director for Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs, Director of Family Medicine Residency Programs, and Head of Family Medicine Departments at esteemed institutions such as the University of Health Sciences (UHS) and Fatima Memorial Hospital. He has also served as an Examiner for MRCGP International and the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP).
Currently, Prof. Shah is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Central Institute of Family Medicine, where he continues to advance the practice of Family Medicine and enhance healthcare delivery in Pakistan. His expertise and dedication make him a highly respected figure in promoting quality healthcare in the country.
