JNAHS may appoint section or specialty editors, who operate under the same terms and conditions as the Editor. These editors are assigned to specific sections of the journal based on their expertise and are dedicated to overseeing content in their specialized areas.
Associate Editors are responsible for reviewing manuscripts within their areas of expertise, coordinating the peer review process, and liaising with authors, reviewers, and board members. They ensure that submissions meet academic and ethical standards, provide constructive feedback to authors, recommend revisions, and assist the editorial team in decision-making to uphold the quality of the journal’s content.
JNAHS may appoint Assistant Editors, who are primarily responsible for tasks assigned by the EiC, Editor, or Associate Editors, such as coordinating manuscript processing, supporting communication with authors and reviewers, and assisting in maintaining the editorial workflow.
The Statistical Editor’s primary responsibilities include providing statistical expertise, guidance, and feedback to ensure adherence to rigorous methodological and statistical standards. This role involves producing thorough evaluations that contribute to the overall editorial feedback process.
The primary responsibility of the Statistician is to conduct a thorough review of the manuscript, from the title to the references. This role may also involve requesting clarifications or explanations from authors regarding the manuscript's text or data.
The primary responsibility of the Biostatistician is to conduct a comprehensive review of the manuscript, from the title through to the references. This may involve requesting clarifications or explanations from authors regarding the manuscript's text or data. For randomized controlled trials (RCTs), the Biostatistician shall also review the study protocol to assess whether all protocol objectives have been achieved and appropriately reported.
The Copy Editor ensures that the accepted manuscript is accurate in spelling, punctuation, grammar, and terminology, and that it flows smoothly from beginning to end. Editorial board members serve a three-year term, with renewal by the Executive Board on a rolling basis following performance review.
The Executive Board may appoint or remove editorial board members based on performance, adherence to policies, and strategic objectives.
The Editorial Board members will meet periodically, either online or onsite, to evaluate the journal’s performance and discuss future goals. The frequency of these meetings will be determined based on the journal’s specific needs.
