The Journal of Basic & Clinical Medical Sciences (JBCMS) is a fully open access journal. Publication costs are covered by an Article Publication Charge (APC), payable only after a manuscript has been accepted. There are no submission fees, page charges, or color figure charges.

Article Publication Charges

The APC is US$150 per article, effective 1 October 2026. Charges are exclusive of any applicable taxes. 

Article Types Subject to Charges

The APC applies to Articles, Reviews, and Systematic Reviews. Case Reports, Case Studies, Viewpoints, Communications, Letters, and Editorials are published free of charge.

When the APC Is Payable

An invoice is issued to the corresponding author after acceptance, and payment is due within 30 days. The article is published once payment has been received.

Editorial decisions are made solely on the scholarly merit of the manuscript. Editors and reviewers have no access to payment information. The ability to pay plays no part in the decision to publish.

Waivers and Discounts

Authors who are unable to pay the APC may request a full or partial waiver. Requests should be sent at the time of submission to [email protected], with a brief explanation of the circumstances. Waiver requests are handled by the publisher, not the editorial team, and do not affect the editorial decision. Requests made after acceptance are not normally considered.

Payment

Payment can be made through the Pay Your Invoice page. Any bank or transfer charges are the responsibility of the payer. For refunds, see the Refund Policy.

What the APC Covers

The APC covers the cost of managing submissions and peer review, plagiarism screening, copyediting, typesetting, DOI registration, online hosting, and archiving. It allows every article to be freely available to readers worldwide without subscription charges.
